Careers
With a rolling development programme, Spectrum is constantly seeking quality personnel to work within its care settings. It currently has 20 homes, a Head Office and Three Bridges Education Centre based at Blackwater near Truro.
Working with people with ASDs is often challenging and demanding - but very rewarding in terms of satisfaction, interest and stimulation - conditions not always found in the workplace! Managers and colleagues recognise that at times the nature of the work can place individual members of staff under pressure, and emphasis is given to team work and mutual support.
Spectrum is seeking applicants with or without previous care experience - full training is provided to all new employees (see section on Staff Training). Of more importance in the recruitment process is the selection of staff who are interested in putting others first, and who believe in supporting people with disabilities to succeed.
We have a large and increasing number of care staff (currently over 300 including part-time). Career development is a very real possibility, as appointment to Registered Manager and other senior positions is most often through promotion from the primary level of Care Support Worker. So if you are looking for an interesting and rewarding job where no two days are the same, and where you can expect free training, skill development and career enhancement, why not contact us now.
In the first instance if you want to discuss a career in Spectrum, e-mail enquiries@dcact.eu.com or ring him on 01326 371000; or you can find our Application pack for the position of Care Support Worker located on the right-hand section of this page to download. Alternatively you can request an application pack by telephoning 01326 371032, leaving clear details on the voicemail.
